Gold Seal - Anastasiya!

Gold Seal - Brooke!
I couldn't be more proud!  Anastasiya and Brooke left the State V.A.S.E. event with a total of three (count 'em - 3!) Gold Seal Awards from the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event on Saturday!  Out of 24,000 entries at the Regional level events across Texas, 1499 pieces were selected to be judged at the State level in Bryan, Texas.  From the 1499 pieces, 150 were selected to receive the prized Gold Seal award - and three of those went to Bowie Students!  Brooke received one for her fabulous shell sculpture and Anastasiya not only received two, one for her Grandfather piece and one for her piano keys, but she also received a 500.00 check from VASE for her incredible work!  Congratulations to these amazing young women!

Tick Tock...

I've just finished taking a look at what you all have been doing (or not doing) again.  Please make sure to post what you are working on, your sketchbook that led up to what you are working on, and if you haven't already, organize or reorganize your work so it can be viewed as you final portfolio will be by the AP readers.

Tick tock, baby.

...more beautiful work.

I ran across the work of Kenne Gregoire, a contemporary Dutch artist and couldn't help connect the detailed work to that of the art of Jan Van Eyck in the 15th century.  Art history is everywhere...
